A very warm welcome from New York! Yes you’re reading correctly! My 40th blog entry is coming live from the United States of America! As most of you will notice Eurovision took over this week and even though me being in the big Apple did not stop me from following this massive event! I even found a great pub in Hell’s Kitchen were the final from Malmo in Sweden was broadcasted live! This was actually the second time I watched the Final outside of Europe – the first time being back in 2006 when I was living in Sydney/Australia. It certainly was the most memorable one for me as well.
The only time I experienced so many different nationalities peacefully together celebrating, singing along, clapping etc was last year at the London Olympics! I was totally mesmerised having spoken about the different entries to ladies from Lithuania, Estonia, Belgium, Ireland, Spain, Iceland, Germany, Russia, the Ukraine, the Netherlands etc. Anyway! I better continue my travel and leave you with my favourite Eurovision songs from the past weekend! It is Russia’s first Eurovision Number 1 in case anyone is interested to know! Hopefully I’ll be able to give you an update midweek from my next travel destination – Chicago!
