I hope you all had a great weekend like I did?! Well mine was rather relaxing after all this travelling I did over the past 2.5 weeks! Oh and last week was kind of mentally exhausting as work was quite busy and I had my first exam on Friday! And because I was a bit lazy during my vacation I really had to study every evening! Nevertheless this weeks charts did not suffer!
As predicted last week, ‘Feel Again’ by One Republic looks like the song of the Summer 2013 and remains on the top spot for a second week in a row.
Surprisingly this year’s ‘Eurovision Fever’ didn’t last as long as in previous years, despite some great performances/songs in the Final! This did not stop Russian representative Dina Garipova however to step up again by one rank with ‘What If’!
I am also kind of proud with myself having featured Robin Thicke and ‘Blurred Lines’ a week earlier than it entered the UK Top 40. You see I’m not always behind with my taste. I sometimes even am ahead of things – almost felt like a trend setter as of today it still remains Number 1 on the British Isles!
The highest new entry this week however goes to a group called The Young Romans. Their song ‘New Beginning’ featured in the new ABC Family show ‘The Fosters’ and I instantly got hooked on this one. Unfortunately there is no official video (I think) so you have to cope just with the music. I am confident though that this won’t be a problem as it is a very catchy beginning!
Another new entry I would like to share this week comes from Toby Keith & Willie Nelson. I’ve heard this song whilst out in New York City in a bar called ‘Flaming Saddles Saloon’. They played this song ‘Beer For My Horses’ which I’ve never heard before, however the theme was very familiar and I’ve told my friend Mark this has to be a cover. Not having had the song on my iPhone with me it took me a while until it hit me! Martina McBride’s ‘My Baby Loves Me’ was the song I was thinking off. It had entered my charts in 2012 and the melody was still stuck in my head! So please judge for yourself if I’m right or not and if those songs are very very similar!!? I never realised that Martina had such beautiful blue eyes though.
