Even I am still surprised at this week’s new Number 1. It never happened before that a song which has previously been in Enrico’s Hitlist, made a come-back and re-entered at the top position! Venezuelan Carlos Baute enjoyed a week of ‘success’ with ‘Loquitos De Amor’ in October 2011, however only scored 5 points back then! He will certainly make a big jump from current position 1693 in the All Time ranks by ousting Icona Pop & Charli XCX’s single ‘I Love It’ which has fallen to Number 2! It was one of those songs I just couldn’t get out of my head this week! Will be interesting to see how this latin pop tune will do next week!!
Surely you remember me talking about my Olympic Games knowledge a few days ago in my article ‘Different’?! As most of you might have noticed Tina Arena made a surprise comeback – like Carlos Baute did – with her song ‘The Flame’ which was featured at the Sydney Olympic Games Opening Ceremony in 2000! Funny enough as much as liked the song in 2000, it only managed to make an appearance for four weeks back in November 2003. I like how the stadium speakers announce her and could listen to it over and over again!
Other than that ‘Dreams’ – the comeback in last weeks Top 20 – by the Cranberries already dropped out again, as did Emeli Sande’s ‘Next To Me’ whilst other songs such as ‘In The Palm Of Your Hand’ by Alison Krauss & ‘Marley’s Chain’s’ by Honey Rider managed to hang on for another week.
The third comeback of the week I’d like to share with you is from the Glee Cast. ‘Hell To The Know’ enters again at position 15 whilst ‘Mamma Mia’, ‘Anything Could Happen’ & ‘Old Time Rock & Roll / Danger Zone’ only knew one direction this week: down which leads me to a new entry by British teen sensation band One Direction who are celebrating a new entry with ‘They Don’t Know About Us’ at Number 16. ‘Hell To The No’ is a so called original song and was not – like most of the songs in this hit US TV-show – a cover. It went on to become their 3rd best single after being a massive hit in the Top 20 in 2011! Six weeks Number 1, 29 weeks in Enrico’s Hitlist and 619 total points just shows you how much I enjoy this awesome pop tune!! And I’m pretty certain, that once you have listened to the song you all gonna sing along and say hell to the no – hands down!
