Finland – 2014 – The 11th

Hello from Helsinki with an earlier chart update than usual out of the Finnish capital! I’ll be boarding my flight back to London soon, but I thought to seize the chance to present this weeks Top 20 to you!

‘Ma Kje Si Ti’ by Slovenian artist Natalija Verboten manages to stay at number one for a fourth week in a row but you might have also noticed quite a few new entries from Glee. I swear that the writers of the show do have a look into my charts, because just a few weeks ago ‘America’ by Neil Diamond featured in my Top 20. The cover version by the Glee Cast is quite amazing, but I don’t want to spoil anything for the people who haven’t seen the current episode so you have to be satisfied with the original!

Despite an incredible weekend here in the Olympic City of 1952 ‘I Love LA’ originally performed by Randy Newman and now greatly covered by the Glee Cast storms to number 4 becoming the second highest entry this week. Again you have to stick to the original video, which is actually quite amazing. I was thinking last night where else this song has featured and then suddenly I remembered. It was used during the baseball scene in the comedy movie ‘The Naked Gun’. Good times!!!

It’s not only Natalija who’s putting Slovenia on the map this week. Tinkara Kovac who will represent Slovenia at this years Eurovision Song Contest in Denmark/Copenhagen  enters closely behind ‘I Love LA’ with ‘Round And Round’. Other Eurovision entries this week see the downward spiral. Perhaps it is the last week for ‘Gonna Get Even’ by Nashville sensation Aubrey Peeples after 22 incredible weeks so far in Enrico’s Hitlist. You never know though.
