Having a first look at this week’s Top 20, it seems that the trend is downwards (simply by the seeing so much red!). I do like to point out though that the reign of Carlos Baute over the past three weeks is now over as he is falling down three ranks to Number 4 with this single ‘Loquitos De Amor’. So yes this means there is a new Number 1 in Enrico’s Hitlist.
Canadian pop sensation Carly Rae Jepson who is more known for her smash hit ‘Call Me Maybe’ has done it again and is debuting on top of the charts with her latest single ‘Tonight I’m Getting Over You’. Friends from the US capital Washington D.C. who were in town last week mentioned this fab tune to me and it instantly stuck inside my head. Feel free to judge for yourself!
Another new entry which obviously narrowly missed out on becoming Number 1 is from country-pop singer Jo Dee Messina, who’s biggest success so far this year has been ‘Heads Carolina, Tails California’! Her ‘latest’ entry ‘I’m Alright’ is a very easy song to listen to and funny enough it was first released on the 11th of May in 1988 almost exactly 25 years ago which I find very cool!
A second song which includes the Canadian electronic music band from Toronto/Ottawa Dragonette sneaks in as a re-entry on Number 17. This collaboration with Martin Solveig and their hugely successful single ‘Hello’ was recently featured in an ad to promote the UK Television channel TLC and like with Carly Rae Jepsen I got hooked onto this amazing tune again, like I did in 2011, when it first made an impact in my charts. I find this video – which I haven’t seen before – hugely entertaining!
