Enough

‘Hello Hi’ by Swedish Pop Trio Dolly Style is holding on to the top spot for an incredible fourth week in a row, which means it still was not enough for Demi Lovato & Cher Lloyd to claim the throne in this weeks charts!

You will also see, that slowly but steadily ‘Popular’ by the Glee Cast is climbing up the latter and settles at the 4th position just behind this weeks highest entry (and rightfully predicted last week) ‘Heartbeat Song’ by US Idol winner Kelly Clarkson. But who am I kidding – these are my charts, so I kind of do decide who is entering and who isn’t!

So it also doesn’t come at a surprise that ZZ Ward with ‘Put The Gun Down’ is debuting at number 7 this week, just having recently seen ‘We’re The Miller’s’!

Last surprise entry of the week is to be found at number 16, a song which was featured on the BBC’s ‘Eurovision’s Greatest’ Hits’. ‘The Lord Of The Dance’ by Irish Dances was just an interval act at the ESC 21 (!) years ago but certainly took the world by storm and the performance on the show certainly had an impact on me! On that dancing note I wish you all a Happy Easter!

Movements

The second week of ehCharts 2015 had his first big movements and already a change at the top spot! Scotty McCreery’s ‘Feelin’ It’ did have an impact (desire for summer holiday perhaps?!) and has claimed the number one position. Furthermore you will notice that last weeks Number 1 has to settle at number seven this week.

For those Eurovision Fans out there (and I know you are out there!) you might be pleased to see that this years winner of the Dutch selection Trijntje Oosterhuis makes her debut with ‘Walk Along’ at rank 2 this week and successfully continues on last years single called ‘Calm After The Storm’ by The Common Linnets!

Further success comes from another Eurovision participant representing Spain last year with ‘Dancing In The Rain’. Y’all know that I am talking about Ruth Lorenzo who released her first album ‘Planeta De Azul’ and storms to number 3 with ‘Gigantes’, which has been also a success in the Spanish Singles Charts.

Lastly I would like to point out that all kinds of music have the chance to enter ehCharts, as you will see with the BBC News Countdown being one example or Jennifer Lopez’ Hip Hop single ‘I Luh Ya Papi’ another. Check out the videos below and enjoy and thanks for checking in!

Country

Welcome back to Week No. 2 @ehCharts and thanks for ‘tuning’ in!

‘Can You Feel It’ has become a question over the last couple of days in terms of if I can feel the Christmas Spirit of 2014! Honest answer obviously is a big fat NO, but I certainly can feel the charm of this awesome country themed song arranged by Scott McCreery, one of the newcomers in this genre who narrowly overran ‘Geronimo’ by Sheppard now stuck in second place! I know the video is in like karaoke style, but the song is pretty pretty cool – well I think so at least! And he’s the one to look out for, as ‘Feelin It’ is about to set during next week!

And the country theme continues with Sam Hunt’s ‘House Party’ climbing up to number 4. Next week could all be between Sam and Scott. Ya never know!

Well though I might do Simon Cowell’s ‘X-Factor’ a huge favour today, I still think Fleur East’s performance of ‘Uptown Funk’ was one of the best performances ever. And let’s face it! She was kind of the reason Bruno Mars & Mark Ronson had tu rush release their single topping the UK-Top 40 this week! Therefore she definitely deserves her 6th entry position!

I do want to feature one of Enrico’s ALL TIME CLASSICS, as it made a re-appearance on Number 19 this week. It is one of those songs I feel, never got full credit and yet every time you hear it with friends, co-workers etc. literally everyone is singing to it! And on that note I shall you leave with Urban Cookie Collective’s amazing arrangement of ‘The Key: The Secret’!

Well, what can I say?! Yes I know it’s late (again) but hey ho (or should I say ‘Ho Hey’?!) there is a new Number 1 in the house! And it’s the second number 1 Hit for Nashville Star Hayden Panettiere with her latest single ‘Hypnotizing’ which is featured in the amazing US TV show ‘Nashville’! A very captivating tune which caught my attention a while ago and finally it is out there!! I’ve tried to just insert a media file so you could listen to the song, however my technical abilities are limited this late at night so I gave up (for now!) and you have to stare at the gorgeous Hayden Panettiere whilst hopefully enjoying the latest Number 1 in Enrico’s Hitlist, as it is kind of hypnotizing!

Another noteworthy new appearance happens to be from James Morrison with ‘I Won’t Let You Go’ which makes a debut at Number 7! I don’t know how I missed this song when it was released like two years ago. Ah well, better late then never right?! OK I admit it, I came across this beautiful song last night watching ‘The Voice’ and of course I had to get the original version!! You see, Enrico’s Hitlist is always up for surprises and like on this weeks charts open for very late entries!!!

Another video I’d like to share this week is referring to a re-entry on position 12 this week. 4 years ago ‘As I Lay Me Down’ by Sophie B. Hawkins was last seen in Enrico’s Hitlist! This song helped me this week staying calm and going through my studies (which I’m sweating over right now, because my first exam is less than a month away). It is possibly my going to sleep song this evening! Very fitting lyrics eh?!
